DFW Electric
In November 2018 we launched the DFW Electric. It makes it possible to cremate completely sustainably, without the use of gas, and even climate-neutral when the crematorium uses wind or solar energy.
About 85% less energy than a gas oven, 50% less NOx, and more than 80% less CO₂, even with today’s energy mix from the grid.
It also saves on the energy costs per cremation. There is no emission from burners, and because the process is quieter, the temperature peaks are lower.
The same insertion room.
The DFW Electric looks the same as a gas oven in the insertion room. Most crematoria have an automatic inserting machine with which the coffin is entered into the oven in a dignified manner.
The ashes that remain after a cremation in an electric cremator look exactly the same as after a cremation in a gas oven. They are then processed into fine granules in a Cremulator.
The operator starts the cremation on the same touchscreen as every DFW cremator.
Heat from protected elements.
The oven is brought to temperature by electrical elements. The silicon carbide brickwork protects them against the flue gases, for an expected service life of 8000 cremations, and lets the heat of the elements pass through very well.
Replacing the elements is done from the outside of the oven, without damaging the masonry.
Because an electric cremator is always kept at temperature, the temperature fluctuations are smaller. The wear on the refractory brickwork is lower, so the brickwork lasts longer.
See it work.

The future of cremation.
For a crematorium that does not cremate 24 hours a day, the electric cremator is at the moment the most sustainable cremator.
An existing gas oven can be converted to various fuels. With bio propane, the CO₂ footprint is reduced by 80% compared with natural gas.
